Not legal or insurance advice. Our summaries of Georgia law, such as the five-business-day right to cancel an insurance-paid roofing contract after a written denial, are plain-language summaries of public law, not legal advice. For your own situation, talk with a lawyer. On insurance, a roofer can photograph and measure damage; you and your insurer settle the claim. You pay your own deductible.

Costs are estimates. Price figures come from published sources, each labeled with its source and year. Sources disagree because they assume different roof sizes and materials. The cost calculator gives a rough range only. A written estimate from a roofer after an inspection is the only real price.

Permits and codes. Permit rules can change, and the office depends on whether your home is inside Kennesaw city limits. Confirm requirements with the permit office before work starts. Your roofer should pull any permit.

Storm history. Storm facts come from the National Weather Service and federal records. They describe past events and say nothing about the condition of your roof.

Roofers. Georgia doesn't license roofers at the state level, and we don't check any roofer for you. A referral is not an endorsement or a guarantee of anyone's work. Ask any roofer for a local business license, insurance certificates, written warranties and a written, itemized contract.
